kato drys

vintage & preloved fashion pop-up at fengaros music festival

Before the 10 day Kato Drys festival began we cleared and organised a quaint space nestled in the streets between two stages, to rebuild and merchandise a quirky, fun and attractive two floor pop-up shop.

We hand-picked vintage and pre-loved fashion and accessories and developed a coherent layout of womenswear, menswear and kidswear. This event was a complete success, doubling the previous years sales.

Pano Lefkara

art trail

The picturesque village of Pano Lefkara in Cypurs has been the home to Grampus Heritage for over 10 years. Over this time numerous art murals, sculptures and other installations have appeared across 2 villages.

This project was to collate the artworks into an organised adventure and creating a digital footprint and description for each one. This trail takes the user on an creative, educational and sightseeing journey.

mural painting

Collectively with 4 artists we created a mural inspired by renewable energy sources surrounding the village of Riba-Roja. Exploring the direct impact of the Riba-Roja d’Ebre river in feeding the surrounding wildlife and bio-diversities.

We transformed turbines to be floating through the air like dandelion flowers. We repurposed scrap wood into concrete like blocks replicating the Hydroelectric dam of Riba-Roja d’Ebre. And we upcycled bottle caps into control room buttons, personalising them to the host!

We were lucky enough to experience the opening of the dam, an event that happens once a year for 24hrs. We witness gallons of water gushing from a narrow passage, creating a gargantuan and fascinating sound, speed and impact.

Later we were invited to have a guided tour inside the Hydroelectric dam, we witnessed a calculated interconnecting array of pipes, wires and buttons, we were inspired by the weave of connectivity. The words controlled and chaos were chosen to convey the work going forward.

One half of the mural carries the idea of control. We illustrated this with a calculated circuit board and used recycled bottle caps to recreate buttons in the control room, each painted with a variety of motifs from wildlife or highlights we had during the research.

The stork feeding from the river represents the protected species which lives and feeds from the river. It sits with hundreds of different wildlife species that feed and inhabit the Riba-Roja d’Ebre. During our placement we toured the local nature reserve Grup de Natura Freixe, in Flix, there we made bat hides as part of a conservation project. They were later hung around the reserve and used as shelters. by a colony of vulnerable bats.
