I started my journey in furniture redesign in 2022, learning the ins-and-outs from professional upcycler, entrepreneur and TV personality Sarah Peterson. It was an honour to learn from her life-long career in design and high level of craftsmanship. With her mentorship and direction I have sharp skills in commercially focused design, gained commissions, assisted with workshops and produced a refinished furniture in-house collection for The TUCC Shop for over 2 years. Each piece is unique and the design process alters depending on functionality, quality or age - these factors can indicate design and/or colour direction.

UPHOLSTERY

Sustainable design with textiles

Ercol Easy Chair

Sanded and oiled with cushion covers. The set of 2 chairs with a collective 4 cushions creating 8 flat surfaces. I covered them with 4 different fabrics, creating many colour-ways of colour and pattern adding a modular element to the project.

1960’s G Plan Dining Chairs. Restored with Danish oil giving new life and shine to the wood. Replacement foam and covered with a sleek midnight blue wool.
1970’s Retro Ottoman Reupholstered body and lid, standing on black atomic legs with a gold finish. Wrapped in a golden velvet with a detailed Frida Kahlo printed top.
Ercol Limited Edition 1971/72 Cowcatcher Armchairs. Painted in cast iron and paired with a golden yellow and blush pink Harris Tweed, the back cushions utilised scraps generated from the seat project.
Vintage Stag telephone table. Re-upholstered seat in a pink checkered Harris Tweed, paired with a deep oxford blue.
